The standard GoToMyPC connection relays via our public servers. Direct Connection removes the relay to GoToMyPC servers, allowing a direct connection between the two PCs using the same encryption.
Important: Direct Connection is not available when connecting to a Mac.
Enabling Direct Connection
- On the host, go to the system tray and choose the GoToMyPC icon.
- Choose Preferences.
- Under the Connection tab, choose from the following:
Option Description Allowed between Any Two Computers Allows a direct connection to be established between any client and Windows host. Only Allowed within Your Network Allows a direct connection between any a client and a host that is in the same network. Not Allowed Disables Direct Connection.
- Click OK.
Your new connection settings are set. Your connection status can be one of the following:
|Not In Session||The host is not being accessed.|
|Establishing||The host is attempting to make a direct connection with a client.|
|Connected to another computer||The host is connected to a client|
