How do I find my Windows user name on the remote LogMeIn host?
You can determine your Windows user name in two ways. Both involve being physically present at the remote computer. You can't find a remote computer's user name from a mobile device, the Client app, or at the LogMeIn.com website.
Method 1 - Command line
- While sitting at the computer that you want to be able to access, press and hold the Windows key and press the letter R on your keyboard. The Run dialog box is displayed.
- In the box, type cmd and press Enter. The command prompt window will appear.
- Type whoami and press Enter.
Your current user name will be displayed.
Method 2 - LogMeIn Control Panel
- Physically go to the computer that you want to be able to access, or ask someone who is present at that computer to perform the following steps.
Tip: In some cases, you may need to ask for help from the person who manages the host at your organization.
- Open LogMeIn Control Panel, and go to the Options page. Your user name is displayed in the Username and Password section.
Method 3 - Windows Task Manager
You can access your Windows user account details from the Task Manager as well.
- On your remote host, right-click the Windows menu and select Task Manager.
Processes running on your remote computer are displayed.
- Right-click your user name and select Manage user accounts.
- Find your computer user name, including the domain name, on the right of the Control Panel.
