Getting Around in File Manager on an Android Phone or Tablet

    Here's what you can do in File Manager on Android.

    File Manager is available for both iOS and Android.

    Action Description
    Switch between open pages Tap the pages icon. Tap the page you want to view.
    Open Local Files Tap the Local Files page to view files that are available on your phone or tablet.
    Open File Manager Tap My Computers, tap a computer, and then tap the File Manager button.
    View a file To open a file, tap it.
    You should be able to open these common file types on most devices:
    • iWork documents
    • .jpg, .tiff, .gif, .png (images)
    • .doc and .docx; .xls and .xlsx; .ppt and .pptx (Microsoft Office)
    • .htm and .html (web pages)
    • .key; .numbers

    Drill down into folders To see the contents of a folder, tap it.
    Move back a level To move back, tap a folder name at the top of the page.
    Other options Add a new folder, sort the files in a folder, or select multiple files in a folder.
