Error: This Copy of join.me is Damaged

If you see a similar message, you should reinstall the app.

Symptom

When starting the join.me desktop app on a Mac, you see the following error message:

This copy of join.me is damaged and can't be used. You should move it to the Trash and download a fresh copy.

Solution

Download the installation files again and use your Mac's Archive Utility tool to unzip the package. Follow the on-screen instructions to install.
Important: You must use your Mac's Archive Utility tool to unzip the package. Do not use a third-party archiving tool to unzip the installation files.
