On iPhone, you'll even be able to start an audio-only meeting directly from the notification. Swipe left to reveal options.

Notification options

Calendar Sync works with any accounts added to your iPhone or iPad under Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars. This could include any account type that is supported on iOS: iCloud, Exchange, Google, Yahoo, AOL and Outlook.

Setup: Connecting your Calendar to join.me

Upon update to version 4.9 or higher, the app should automatically ask you to connect your Calendar.
Important: When prompted, be sure to allow join.me to access your Calendar and send you notifications.

You can also connect your Calendar by changing your device's settings, as follows.

  1. Allow join.me to access your Calendar:
    1. Under Settings on your iOS device (not from within join.me), tap Privacy.
    2. Tap Calendars and switch the slider for join.me to ON (green).
  2. Allow join.me to send you Notifications:
    1. Under Settings on your iOS device (not from within join.me), tap Notifications.
    2. Locate join.me on the list, tap it, and switch the slider for Allow Notifications to ON (green). All other notification settings are optional.

Creating meetings that are easy to start/join

Once you have connected your Calendar to join.me, join.me displays a meeting notification one minute prior to the start of every Event (with invitees) that's on your Calendar. It's enough for the join.me app to be running in the background.

Anyone using Alerts style notifications taps to start/join, while folks with Banner notifications swipe.

Follow these guidelines to make it easy for folks to connect:

  • Include at least one invitee – Calendar Events without invitees aren't really meetings, so they don't appear in join.me.
  • Include your personal link in the Calendar Event's Location or Notes. For example: join.me/your.personal.link (you do not need to include http:// in your personal link).
Tip: If you forget to include your personal link in the Calendar Event, you can open the join.me app and tap + (plus sign) > Add join.me.

  • Events without join.me info will still trigger a join.me notification one minute before the meeting. You can tap the join.me notification to start a meeting using your personal link. Invitees receive a meeting update with your personal link.
  • Free user? Even though you don't have a personal link, you can still add Calendar Events that omit join.me info under Location and Notes. Events without join.me info still trigger a join.me notification one minute before the meeting. You can tap the join.me notification to start a meeting that uses a newly generated 9-digit one-time code. Invitees receive a meeting update with the code.

Disconnecting your Calendar

You can disconnect your Calendar by changing your device's settings, as follows.

Stop allowing join.me to access your Calendar:
  1. Under Settings on your iOS device (not from within join.me), tap Privacy.
  2. Tap Calendars and switch the slider for join.me to OFF.
