After installing Hamachi, you lose your Internet connection.

You must manually assign the Metric. Here's how.

Windows 7 and above

1. Open the Control Panel.
2. Click Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center.
3. On the left, click Change adapter settings.
4. Right-click the Hamachi adapter and click Properties.
5. Click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) > Properties.
6. Click Advanced.
7. At the bottom of the Advanced TCP/IP Settings window, uncheck the Automatic metric option, and enter 9000 in the Interface metric field.

Windows Vista

1. Open the Control Panel.
2. Click Network and Sharing Center.
3. On the left, click Manage network connections.
4. Right-click the Hamachi adapter and click Properties.
5. Highlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), and click the Properties button. In a 64 bit OS, this is listed as Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).
6. Click Advanced.
7. At the bottom of the Advanced TCP/IP Settings window, uncheck the box labeled Automatic Metric, and enter 9000 as the Interface Metric.

The Hamachi adapter has now been assigned a high metric, which means that Windows will attempt to connect to it after all other adapters. If the problem persists, assign a lower metric to the adapter you want to use to connect to the Internet. To do this, follow the steps above, but enter 100 in the Interface metric field (step 7, above).
