Why do I get Access Denied 5 when logging into my Mac?
The host software uses the host computer's OS X username/password for authentication. An Error 5 message would indicate that either the username or password is being entered incorrectly. Both the username (long and short-forms) and password are case sensitive.
You can find your Mac username on the host machine by going to. Any passworded account with admin rights can be used to log into the host.
