Why do I get Access Denied 5 when logging into my Mac?

The host software uses the host computer's OS X username/password for authentication. An Error 5 message would indicate that either the username or password is being entered incorrectly. Both the username (long and short-forms) and password are case sensitive.

You can find your Mac username on the host machine by going to System Preferences > Accounts. Any passworded account with admin rights can be used to log into the host.
