Configure a firewall on a host computer

When configuring firewalls on a host computer, first, ensure that your security software is up to date. GoToMyPC periodically releases updates for both host and client software. You may need to update your security software to the appropriate version provided by your manufacturer to recognize newer versions of GoToMyPC.
Grant permission in your firewall program
When you first install
GoToMyPC on your host computer,
GoToMyPC attempts a secure connection with the
GoToMyPC communication servers. This connection process could trigger firewall alerts that will prompt you for action.
- If you receive a firewall alert, select the Remember this answer each time I use this program check box.
- Select Yes to enable GoToMyPC to access the Internet.
- If your firewall does not automatically ask to allow GoToMyPC to access the Internet, you may have to enable it manually. To see which GoToMyPC files need firewall permission, visit our GoToMyPC files that need firewall permissions guide.
