Enabling GoToMyPC with McAfee Anti-virus Software

If your computer is protected by McAfee and you are experiencing connection issues then your firewall may be preventing a connection. To safely configure your firewall please locate your version of McAfee below and follow the instructions.

If after following these instructions you still have firewall related issues, then McAfee Support may be able to provide assistance.

McAfee Total Protection

  1. Right-click the McAfee Total Protection icon in your system tray (usually the bottom right of your screen.)
  2. Click Open McAfee Total Protection.
  3. Click Firewall. (a)
  4. Click Settings. (b)
  5. Scroll down until you see GoToMyPC(c), select it and then click Edit. (d)
  6. Set Access to Full. (e)
  7. Click Save. (f)
  8. If you cannot find GoToMyPC in the list of programs, click Add, navigate to the files, and add them using these steps.

McAfee Security Center

  1. Right-click the McAfee Security Center icon in your system tray (normally the bottom right of your screen).
  2. Click Open Security Center.
  3. Click Internet & Network. (a)
  4. Click Configure. (b)
  5. Click Advanced. (c)
  6. Click Program Permissions. (d)
  7. Scroll until you find GoToMyPC Communications (e), select it, then click Allow Access. (f)
  8. Click Apply. (g)
  9. If you cannot find GoToMyPC in the list of programs, click Add Allowed Program, navigate to the files, and add them using these steps.

McAfee Total Protection Service

  1. Right-click the McAfee Total Protection Service icon in your system tray (normally the bottom right of your screen) and click Open Console.
  2. Click Action Menu and then select View Application List (a) from the drop-down menu.
  3. Locate GoToMyPC Communications in the list of programs, click the adjacent box (b) to select it and, then click Approve. (c)
  4. If you cannot find GoToMyPC in the list of programs, click Add, navigate to the files, and add them using these steps.
