Why am I being asked to grant access to my new device or location for LastPass?

In order to be able to verify that you have access to the email address you use for your LastPass account (either because LastPass doesn't recognize your device or you are logging in from a new location), you are required to verify yourself by clicking a verification link via email.

LastPass uses this method as a preliminary means of verification, which is required initially when you set up your account, and must be done before using the following features:

  • Sharing an item for the first time
  • Adding users to your trial account

You can verify your access to your LastPass account by clicking a verification link that is sent to your LastPass email address.

Tip: If you have added a security email address (under the "Security" section of your LastPass Account Settings), please check that inbox first.

Additionally, you can manage your verification settings within the Account Settings of your LastPass Vault.
