Why am I being prompted for Multifactor Authentication when I set my device as trusted?

If you have set your computer as a trusted device but still encounter the prompt for Multifactor Authentication, locate the LastPass data folder on your Windows, macOS, or Linux system and delete all the files found within that folder. Once deleted, you can set your device as trusted once again.

Data folders in Windows

Internet Explorer & Firefox:

  1. Go to C:\Users\<username>\AppData\LocalLow\LastPass
  2. Delete the .suid files.
  3. Log in to LastPass, then set your device as trusted again.

Google Chrome:

  1. Go to %AppData%\..\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\databases\chrome-extension_hdokiejnpimakedhajhdlcegeplioahd_0\
  2. Delete the files within.

  1. Go to ~/Library/Containers/com.lastpass.LastPass/Data/Library/Application Support/LastPass/Containers
  2. Open the com.lastpass.LastPass folder, then delete all of the files within.

Note: If you cannot locate the Library Folder, it may be hidden. To reveal it, go to Finder > Go > Go to Folder > enter: ~/Library to access your user account Library.
