Use the LastPass Authenticator app to access your LastPass Vault

Once you have set up the LastPass Authenticator as your multifactor option, log in to your LastPass account and you will be prompted to authenticate using the LastPass Authenticator app.

Before you begin: Complete the steps for configuring your LastPass account before proceeding.
  1. Open the LastPass Authenticator app on your mobile device.
  2. Log in to LastPass by doing either of the following:
    • In your web browser toolbar, click the inactive (grey or black) LastPass icon inactive LastPass icon, then enter your email address and Master Password and click Log In.
    • Go to https://lastpass.com/?ac=1 and enter your email address and Master Password, then click Log In.
  3. When prompted, choose any of the following options to authenticate:
    To use this: Do this:
    Push notification
    1. Open the LastPass Authenticator app on your mobile device.
    2. Tap Accept when prompted.

    Time-based, one-time passcode (TOTP)
    1. Open the LastPass Authenticator app on your mobile device.
    2. Locate the passcode generated for your LastPass account.
    3. On the multifactor window, enter the 6-digit code into the Passcode field.
    4. Click Authenticate.
    SMS passcode
    1. On the multifactor window, select Send me an SMS passcode.
    2. A 6-digit code is sent to your phone via text message.
    3. Enter the 6-digit SMS code in the Passcode field.
    4. Click Authenticate.
    Voice call (Call Me)
    1. On the multifactor window, select Call me.
    2. A phone call from LastPass is placed to your phone number.
    3. When prompted, press the # key on your phone's keypad to verify.
  4. Optional: To use a different multifactor option, click Additional Multifactor Options and select your desired option.

    Attention:  If you are part of a company account and a policy has been enforced to only allow one multifactor option, the "Additional Multifactor options" section will not be displayed.

  5. Optional: If desired, toggle on the switch for the Trust this computer for 30 days setting and enter a computer name.
