Some of my passwords and Vault items are missing! How do I get them back?

If you log in to your LastPass Vault and notice that some of your stored passwords and Vault items are missing, there are a few things you can do to get them back.

Check that you are using the right Identity

If you have created Identities for your LastPass Vault, you may have selected an Identity that does not contain your stored item. You can check by doing either of the following:

Using the web browser extension

  1. In your web browser toolbar, click the inactive LastPass icon .
  2. Enter your email address and your LastPass Master Password, then click Log In. An active LastPass icon is now displayed in your web browser toolbar to indicate a successful login.
  3. In your web browser toolbar, click the LastPass icon LastPass, then go to More Options or Account Options > Identities and select your desired Identity or click All, then search for the item again.

Using the online web Vault

  1. Go to https://lastpass.com/?ac=1 and log in with your username and Master Password.
  2. In the user account drop-down menu (upper-right toolbar) your selected Identity is displayed.
  3. Use the drop-down menu to select your desired Identity or click All, then search for the item again.

Check your deleted items

If you have deleted the item, you can check in your deleted items repository and restore if needed.

  1. Log in to LastPass and access your Vault by doing either of the following:
    • Go to https://lastpass.com/?ac=1 and log in with your username and Master Password.
    • In your web browser toolbar, click the LastPass icon LastPass then click Open My Vault.
  2. Go to More Options in the left navigation.
  3. Go to AdvancedDeleted Items.
    • For a single item, locate your deleted item, then click the Restore icon in the lower-right navigation.
    • For multiple items, hover over each item and check the box in the upper-right hand corner to select it, then use the Actions drop-down menu and select Restore.
  4. When prompted, click Yes to restore your item(s) within your Vault.

Refresh your Vault

If you only recently saved the item and LastPass hasn't been refreshed, you can clear your local cache then refresh your Vault.

  1. While logged in to LastPass, click the active LastPass icon in your toolbar.
  2. Go to More Options or Account OptionsAdvancedClear Local Cache to force a sync of your Vault data. , then do one of the following (based on your navigational experience):
  3. Once cleared, go to More Options or Account OptionsAdvanced > Refresh Sites.
