Manage Your Form Fills
You can add new items to your Vault that can be used to easily fill online web forms, including addresses, payment cards, bank accounts, health insurance policies, and much more. You can also manage item settings, add attachments, share items, and view item history. You can also prevent LastPass from displaying in-field icons for certain form fields. Please note that the items listed in the left navigation will vary depending on which items you added first.
Add a new item
Items are used to fill online forms, such as addresses, payment cards, bank accounts, health insurance policies, and much more.
Adding manually:
- In your web browser toolbar, click the inactive LastPass icon

- Enter your username and your LastPass Master Password, then click Log In.
- Add your item using the web browser extension:
- Click the active LastPass icon
.
- Click Add item.
- Select your desired item type.
- Click the active LastPass icon
- Add your item from within your Vault:
- Click on your desired item type in the left navigation (if listed).
- Click the Add item icon

- Select your desired item type.
- Add your item using the web browser extension:
- Fill in all of the information you want to store. If desired, you can also:
- Select a folder to store it within
- Click Advanced Settings and use the Autofill Language drop-down menu to select your desired language
- Click Advanced Settings and enable the checkbox for the "Require a Password Reprompt" option
- Click Add Attachment to save file(s) to this item (learn more below)
- Click the Favorite icon
to enable this item as a Favorite (learn more about Favorites)
- When finished, click Save.
Prevent fields from being filled automatically
To prevent LastPass from autofilling certain fields on specific sites or applications that you have control over, you can edit your item(s) to add the 'data-lpignore'=true attribute within those form fields which you do not want to autofill.
Prevent the in-field icon for appearing for specific items
If you do not want the gray infield auto-fill LastPass icon to appear in your login fields, you can disable it within your LastPass web browser extension Preferences to remove it for all sites, or add a site as a Never URL so that the icon does not appear for specific sites.
Edit or delete an item
- Locate the item you'd like to update, then click Edit.
- Make your desired changes. You can also:
- Select a folder to store it within
- Click Advanced Settings and use the Autofill Language drop-down menu to select your desired language
- Click Advanced Settings and enable the checkbox for the "Require a Password Reprompt" option
- Click Add Attachment to save file(s) to this Note (learn more below)
- Click the Favorite icon
to mark this item as a Favorite
- Click the Share icon
, then enter the email address of your recipient and click Share (learn more below)
- Click the Delete icon
to remove and send to Delete Items
- Click the Note History icon
then click Show to view all changes made to the item (learn more below)
- When finished, click Save (if applicable).
About adding attachments to items
Adding attachments can be helpful in maintaining access to important documents in case they are misplaced or you lose access to a printed copy.
LastPass users can add various file types as attachments to their items that meet the following requirements:
- Must be a supported file type: "csv", "doc", "docx", "odt", "ppt", "pptx", "txt", "xls", "xlsx", "pdf", "png", "gif", "jpg", "m4a", "mpg", "wav", "avi", "rtf", "html", "htm", "mov", "tiff", "tif", "jpeg", "wmv", "tsv", "zip", "rar", "log", "key"
- Each attachment file can be up to 10 MB in size, and your total storage limits are dependent on your account type (i.e., Free users have up to 50 MB whereas Premium, Families, Teams, Enterprise, and Identity accounts have up to 1 GB).
Limitations
- Attachments cannot be opened from the online Vault in a web browser (i.e., logging in to https://www.lastpass.com). You can only download attachments by logging in using the web browser extension, desktop app, or mobile app.
About item history
You can review changes made to your items by viewing the item history.
- When you edit your item, you can click on the History icon
.
- Click Show to view the item as it had appeared prior to the saved changes.
