Manage Mobile Devices Using LastPass

You can control which mobile devices (if any) have access to your LastPass account. Depending on how you configure your it, when you attempt to log on from a new device, LastPass may or may not send you an email with a security confirmation link, to make sure that the person requesting access is actually you. This article details procedures for controlling this behavior, as well as how to revoke/reinstate access to mobile devices that have already been used with your LastPass account.

Manage access restriction for new mobile devices

To control whether or not LastPass requires you to click a link in a security email when you add LastPass to a new mobile device, do the following:

  1. If you have not done so, log in to LastPass.
  2. In your web browser toolbar, click the LastPass icon then click Open My Vault.

  1. In the left pane, click Account Settings.

  1. Click the Mobile Devices tab.
  2. Choose one of the following:
    1. If you wish to require security email confirmations for new mobile devices, click Enable. (If there is a Disable button, instead, do nothing. Access is already restricted.)

  1. If you do not wish to require security email confirmations for new mobile devices, click Disable. If there is an Enable button, instead, do nothing. Access has already been granted.

Manage authorization of mobile devices

To use a computer to remove authorization of a mobile device so that it will no longer use your LastPass account (in case you ever lose that device), or to re-authorize a mobile device that was previously de-authorized, do the following:

  1. If you have not done so, log in to LastPass.
  2. In your web browser toolbar, click the LastPass icon then click Open My Vault.

  1. In the left pane, click Account Settings.

  1. Click the Mobile Devices tab, then located your desired mobile device. For the Access value, choose Allowed (to re-authorize) or Denied (to de-authorize) the device.

  1. Clicking Yes on the next screen immediately logs you off from the mobile device. Clicking No prevents you from logging on again to that device but does not log you off your current session.

If you attempt to log on from a de-authorized mobile device or from a device that has not yet been used with your LastPass account, after correctly entering your email and Master Password, LastPass emails you with a link to confirm that you are adding that device to your account. Once you click the verification link in the email, the device is allowed for use. Then you can log on to LastPass on your mobile device using your email address and your Master Password. Once you do that, your device appears in the list on the Mobile Devices tab.
