I can't find my activation email for LastPass MFA, what should I do?
If you're unable to locate your LastPass MFA activation email, there are a few things you can try.
Restriction: If you have a LastPass business account, the ability to perform these actions may be limited or prohibited due to policies enabled by your LastPass admin.
Contact your LastPass admin
These instructions are for users who have already activated LastPass MFA for their LastPass account.
- You can contact your LastPass admin to request that an activation email for LastPass MFA be sent to you. Instructions for LastPass admins.
Resend from the LastPass Identity web Vault login page
These instructions are for users who have already activated LastPass MFA for their LastPass account.
- Navigate to https://identity.lastpass.com/.
- Click Having trouble logging in?
- Enter your email address, then click Next.
- When prompted to select an issue that best describes the problem, choose one of the following options:
- My phone is lost or stolen
- My phone is temporarily unavailable
- I have a new phone
- Once you have selected your issue, you will prompted to choose from the following options:
Select this To do this Send me a recovery email - You are automatically sent a registration email to pair the LastPass MFA app with a new device.
Note: If you had selected My phone is lost or stolen or I have a new phone, please be aware that you will block access and delete all of your LastPass MFA app data from your previous device when you click Start Registration.
- Check your inbox and when ready, click Start Registration.
- Download the LastPass MFA app on your device.
- Click the Add Account icon in the mobile app.
- Back on your desktop, scan the QR code from the registration email to pair your device.

Resend from logging in to an SSO app
These instructions are for users who have already activated LastPass MFA for their LastPass account.
- If you know of an app or website for which you use the LastPass MFA app for authentication when you log in, navigate to that app or site and log in with your existing credentials. You'll then be prompted to enter your account email address so you can send yourself an activation email.
Resend from within your LastPass account
These instructions are for users who have already activated LastPass MFA for their LastPass account.
Depending on your LastPass business account type, you may have the option to send yourself an activation email from within your LastPass Vault.
- Log in to LastPass and access your Vault by doing either of the following:
- In your web browser toolbar, click the LastPass icon
, then select Open My Vault.
- Go to https://lastpass.com/?ac=1 and log in with your email address and Master Password.
- In your web browser toolbar, click the LastPass icon
- Go to .
- Click the Edit icon
for LastPass MFA.
- At the top of the dialog, click Send activation email.
- Check your inbox for the activation email.

I have never activated LastPass MFA, how do I activate?
These instructions are for users who have a LastPass account but have never activated LastPass MFA.
- Navigate to https://identity.lastpass.com/.
- Enter your LastPass account email address, then select Log In.
- Click Send activation email.
A new LastPass MFA activation email is sent to your inbox.
