How will my linked personal account be affected by the changes to LastPass Free?

If you have linked your LastPass Free personal account to your company's LastPass business account, please review the information below about what to expect when you log in to LastPass after March 16, 2021.

As of March 16, 2021, LastPass Free only includes access on unlimited devices of one type (Computers or Mobile Devices).

If you have linked your LastPass Free personal account to your LastPass business account (Teams, Enterprise, or Identity), you will not encounter any device type limitations or Vault restrictions. This means that you can log in to LastPass using your personal Free account email address and Master Password and be able to access your Vault from any device type. As long as your Free account is linked to a LastPass business account, you will be able to log in to your personal Free account without any device type restrictions.

Note: If you linked a LastPass Premium, Families, or Teams personal account to your LastPass Enterprise or Identity account, no limitations or restrictions apply as you can access your Vault from any device (since both device types are included).

Please note, you will be limited to one device type (and a restricted Vault on a non-active device type) if you log in to LastPass with the following account circumstances:

  • If your LastPass business account (Teams, Enterprise, or Identity) subscription has expired
  • If you unlink your personal LastPass Free account from your LastPass business account (Teams, Enterprise, or Identity)
