How do I unpair then re-pair my LastPass account with the LastPass Authenticator?

You can disconnect your LastPass account from the LastPass Authenticator, then pair it again to reconnect it (as a troubleshooting step, if needed).

  1. Log in to LastPass and access your Vault by doing either of the following:
    • In your web browser toolbar, click the LastPass icon active LastPass icon and select Open My Vault.
    • Go to https://lastpass.com/?ac=1 and log in with your email address and Master Password.
  2. Select Account Settings in the left navigation.
  3. Select the Multifactor Options tab.
  4. Click the Edit icon Edit option for the LastPass Authenticator.
  5. For the "Enabled" option, select No from the drop-down menu.
  6. Click Update.
  7. If prompted, enter your Master Password then click Continue > OK.
  8. Click the Edit icon Edit option for the LastPass Authenticator.
  9. For the "Enabled" option, select Yes from the drop-down menu.
  10. Click Update.
  11. If prompted, enter your Master Password then click Continue.
  12. Click Enroll.
  13. On the next page, click Edit > Start pairing again > Next.

Result: A QR code (barcode) is displayed on the enrollment page.

  14. Open the LastPass Authenticator on your mobile device.
  15. Tap the Add icon in the upper-right of the screen.
  16. Scan the QR code (barcode).

Result: A new entry for your LastPass account is now displayed in the LastPass Authenticator app.

  17. Back on the enrollment page, click Next > Done.
  18. In your Vault, click OK > OK.
You have successfully unpaired then re-paired your LastPass account with the LastPass Authenticator.
What to do next: You should delete your first LastPass account entry in the LastPass Authenticator app (which was replaced by the new entry) and use the new LastPass account entry going forward.
