How do I log in to Windows using LastPass Workstation Login?

Once you have complete the setup of LastPass Workstation Login for Windows, you can use the LastPass MFA app's stored biometrics or pattern to log in to your Windows workstation – no password required!

Alternatively, you can log in using a One-Time Passcode, which is generated within the LastPass MFA app on your registered device (if policies permit you to do so), or you can log in as usual with your username and password for your Windows account.

Please note that if you change your Windows user account password, you will be required to log in with your Windows username and password to authenticate at least once before you are able to log in using the LastPass MFA app again.

Using a LastPass MFA app verification request

Your mobile device must be online (connected to the internet) in order to use this login method.

  1. On your mobile device, open the LastPass MFA app.
  2. On your workstation, click to select LastPass MFA in the lower-left corner of the login screen (if it's not already selected).
  3. Your Windows username is pre-populated for you – proceed to log in to Windows.
  4. On your mobile device, tap or select Accept when prompted.
  5. Verify your identity using stored biometrics (facial recognition or fingerprint identification) or PIN code on the app.

Using a LastPass MFA One-Time Passcode

You can log in to your Windows workstation using a One-Time Passcode generated from the LastPass MFA app, which is a login method that can be used if your computer is online or offline.

Note: To log in to your Windows workstation while your computer is offline, you must be assigned to a Workstation Login policy that allows offline access.
  1. On your Windows workstation, click to select LastPass MFA in the lower-left corner of the screen (if it's not already selected).
  2. Check the box for the Log in with password or One Time Password option.
  3. On your mobile device, open the LastPass MFA app.
  4. Locate the One-Time Passcode displayed for your Windows workstation.
  5. Back on your workstation, enter your One-Time Passcode into the field and proceed to log in.
You are now logged in to your Windows workstation using the LastPass MFA app's One-Time Passcode.
