How do I import Wi-Fi passwords into LastPass?

LastPass has the ability to import Wi-Fi passwords stored within your Windows or Mac computer into LastPass.

Import Wi-Fi passwords using the LastPass web browser extension

Importing is supported on Windows, Mac OS X, and macOS. Instructions will vary depending on the web browser you're using, as follows:

Using Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Opera

  1. Open your desired web browser.
  2. Click the inactive LastPass icon .
  3. Enter your username and Master Password, then click Log In.
  4. If prompted, complete steps for Multifactor Authentication (if enabled).
  5. Click the active LastPass icon in your toolbar, then navigate to the following (based on your view):
    • Go to More OptionsAdvancedImport > Select Wi-Fi Passwords from the drop-down menu.
    • Go to Account OptionsAdvancedImport > Select Wi-Fi Passwords from the drop-down menu.
  6. If prompted with a message that the LastPass Wi-Fi utility must be installed, click OK, then download and run the installer.
  7. Otherwise, click Import when prompted.

Your Wi-Fi passwords have now been imported into your LastPass Vault.

Using Internet Explorer

  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. Click the inactive LastPass icon .
  3. Enter your username and Master Password, then click Log In.
  4. If prompted, complete steps for Multifactor Authentication (if enabled).
  5. Click the active LastPass icon , then go to ToolsImport FromWi-Fi Passwords.
  6. If prompted with a message that the LastPass Wi-Fi utility must be installed, click OK, then download and run the installer.
  7. Otherwise, click Import when prompted.

Your Wi-Fi passwords have now been imported into your LastPass Vault.

Using Safari

  1. Open Safari.
  2. Click the LastPass icon next to the Safari address bar, then navigate to the following (based on your view):
    • Go to More OptionsAdvancedImport > Select Wi-Fi Passwords from the drop-down menu.
    • Go to Account OptionsAdvancedImport > Select Wi-Fi Passwords from the drop-down menu.
  3. If prompted with a message that the LastPass Wi-Fi utility must be installed, click OK, then download and run the installer.
  4. Otherwise, click Import when prompted.

Your Wi-Fi passwords have now been imported into your LastPass Vault.
