How do I export stored data from LastPass using a generic CSV file?

You can export the contents of your LastPass Vault so that you can keep a secure copy for your own records.

Note: Instructions will vary based on whether or not the LastPass binary component is included in your installation of the LastPass web browser extension.

Export using the LastPass web browser extension

  1. In your web browser toolbar, click the inactive LastPass icon .
  2. Enter your username and your LastPass Master Password, then click Log In.
  3. Click the active LastPass icon LastPass, then navigate to one of the following (based on your view):
    • Go to More Options > AdvancedExport > LastPass CSV File.
    • Go to Account Options > AdvancedExport > LastPass CSV File.
  4. If prompted, enter your Master Password then click Continue.
    • With binary component installed: You are prompted to enter a file name and save as a CSV file.
    • Without binary component installed: Your exported data is displayed on a new web browser tab or window, which you can copy the contents and paste into a text editor application, then save as a CSV file.

Export from within your Vault

  1. Log in to LastPass and access your Vault by doing either of the following:
    • Go to https://lastpass.com/?ac=1 and log in with your username and Master Password.
    • In your web browser toolbar, click the LastPass icon LastPass then click Open My Vault.
  2. Select More Options in the left navigation.
  3. Go to AdvancedExport.
  4. If prompted, enter your Master Password and click Continue.
    • With binary component installed: You are prompted to enter a file name and save as a CSV file.
    • Without binary component installed: Your exported data is displayed on a new web browser tab or window, which you can copy the contents and paste into a text editor application, then save as a CSV file.
