How do I clear the local cache for my LastPass Vault?

Clearing the LastPass Local Cache can serve as a troubleshooting step if you encounter issues loading your Vault. By clearing your local cache, you are deleting the local stored copy of your encrypted data. To recreate the local cache, log out of LastPass then log back in while an Internet connection is present.

Once your local cache has been cleared, it is highly recommended that you log back in immediately to recreate these files, which includes restoring access to your Recovery One Time Password.

  1. If you use the LastPass web browser extension, use the following procedure:
    1. Log in to LastPass and access your Vault by doing either of the following:

      • Go to https://lastpass.com/?ac=1 and log in with your username and Master Password.
      • In your web browser toolbar, click the LastPass icon LastPass then click Open My Vault.

    2. Once cleared, log out and log back in to recreate the local cache.
  2. If you use the LastPass app for iOS, use the following procedure:
    1. While logged in to the app, tap Settings in the bottom toolbar.
    2. Tap Security > Clear LastPass Cache.
    3. Once cleared, log out and log back in to the app recreate the local cache.
  3. If you use the LastPass app for Android, use the following procedure:
    1. While logged in to the app, select the Vault Options icon in the upper left navigation.
    2. Go to Settings > Actions > Clear LastPass cache.
    3. Once cleared, log out and log back in to the app recreate the local cache.
  4. If you use the LastPass Mac App, use the following procedure:
    1. While logged in, click on the LastPass Mac app.
    2. In the Apple Menu bar, go to File > Clear Cache.
    3. Once cleared, log out of LastPass and log back in to recreate the local cache.
  5. If you use the LastPass for Applications on Windows, use the following procedure:
    1. Click the LastPass icon in your system tray.
    2. Go to Tools > Clear Local Cache.
    3. Once cleared, log out and log back in to the app recreate the local cache.
  6. If you use the Active Directory Connector, use the following procedure:
    1. While logged in to the app, click Debug in the left navigation.
    2. Click Clear local cache.
    3. Once cleared, log out and log back in to the app to recreate the local cache.
