How do I change my email address for LastPass?

You can change the email address that is associated with your LastPass account, and if needed, send test emails to verify you can receive LastPass emails.

How to change your email address

  1. Log in to LastPass and access your Vault by doing either of the following:
    • In your web browser toolbar, click the LastPass icon active LastPass icon and select Open My Vault.
    • Go to https://lastpass.com/?ac=1 and log in with your email address and Master Password.
  2. Select Account Settings in the left navigation.
  3. Under Login Credentials, make your changes in the Account Email field.
  4. Optional: If desired, click Send Test Email to verify that emails can be received at that email address's inbox before you update.
  5. When ready, click Update.

    Result: You are prompted to enter a code sent via email for verification.

  6. Check the inbox of your current email address for LastPass, then copy the code in the verification email.

  7. Return to LastPass and paste the code into the prompt, then click Confirm.

  8. Enter your Master Password, then click Confirm.

    Result: Your LastPass Vault is re-encrypted to save the changes for your updated email address.

  9. Click OK when prompted.

    Result: You are now logged out of LastPass.

What to do next: Log back in to LastPass to verify your new credentials.

How to send a test email

You can send yourself a test email just to check if your current email address is receiving emails from LastPass.

  1. Log in to LastPass and access your Vault by doing either of the following:
    • In your web browser toolbar, click the LastPass icon active LastPass icon and select Open My Vault.
    • Go to https://lastpass.com/?ac=1 and log in with your email address and Master Password.
  2. Select Account Settings in the left navigation.
  3. Under Login Credentials, click Send Test Email, then click OK.
  4. Check your email inbox and confirm that you received a verification email from LastPass.
What to do next: If you don't receive a verification email from LastPass, check your spam and junk mail folders.
