Workarounds for sharing your screen on an older iOS device

For devices running an older version of iOS (below iOS 11), you can try AirPlay or you can use a third party app like AirServer or Reflector on your Mac or Windows PC in combination with join.me.

AirServer and Reflector run on a Mac or Windows PC and create an AirPlay receiver similar to an Apple TV. Follow the steps below to connect your iPhone or iPad screen wirelessly to AirServer or Reflector:
    1. Requirement! For your iPhone or iPad to mirror its display to your computer, your device and computer MUST be on the same wireless network or be connected via Bluetooth.
    2. Connect your iPad to the AirPlay receiver created by AirServer or Reflector:
Swipe from the bottom of the screen on your iPhone or iPad to access the Control Center.
    3. From the Control Center, tap the AirPlay button.
Select your computer from the list of available devices, and turn Mirroring ON.
Your iPhone or iPad screen should now be displayed on your Mac or Windows PC.
    4. On your Mac or Windows PC, start your join.me meeting and share your screen or the AirServer or Reflector app window.
Now your meeting participants will see anything that you do on your iPhone or iPad.
Other things to be aware of:
    • AirServer requires a separate purchase.
    • Reflector requires a separate purchase.
    • Please refer to Apple’s knowledge base article for additional information
This screen shot shows the join.me app running on a Mac. The presenter is using AirPlay from their iPad to mirror its display to the AirServer app running on their Mac while the AirServer app window is being shared with meeting participants.
