Symptoms

When trying to start a new meeting, join.me notifies you that an update is in progress. The update seems complete, but join.me closes and your meeting does not start. When attempting to start another meeting, join.me tries to update again.

Solution

First: Uninstall the join.me desktop app.
Second:  
  1. After uninstalling join.me, start a new meeting using the join.me website. This shouldn't be a real meeting. You won't invite anyone to join.
  2. Exit the meeting.
  3. When prompted, select Keep join.me on my desktop and exit the meeting. The desktop app is downloaded and installed.
Do not use the .msi installer that can be downloaded from the join.me website!
