How can I set up a schedule to ring to me directly during the day and have a Main Greeting at night when the office is closed?

You can accomplish this by setting your account to go directly to your phone number within an extension.

You can set that extension to forward directly to your phone number with a custom forwarding schedule.

You will also setup an "Away greeting" to play when your business hours are closed.

The away greeting can prompt callers to press extensions and they will be routed accordingly.

Below are the steps you should take to set up these schedules:

To forward a caller directly to your phone number, please follow the steps below.

  1. Click on Settings
  2. Click on Your Number
  3. Select "Transfer to extension" from the drop down menu
  4. Select one of your extensions. (Select an extension you will NOT be mentioning in your Away greeting that will play after hours)

Once the above steps are completed, you must now input the correct phone number within your extension.

  1. Click on Extensions
  2. Click on Edit next to the name of your extension (please select the same extension number you chose in step 4)
  3. Enter the phone number you would like calls forwarded to and add your call forwarding schedule.
  4. Save and Close for the call forwarding section
  5. Save and Close next to your extension name.

The next step would be setting up your away message.

  1. Click on Extensions
  2. Click on Edit next to the name of your extension (please select the same extension number you chose in step 4)
  3. Go to Greetings and select "Show other greetings"
  4. Next to the Away greeting, select "Change greeting" then "Create new greeting" and record your desired greeting for the time in which your business is closed.

Once the greeting is recorded, you will set the hours for this greeting to play.

  1. Below the greeting click on "Options"
  2. Click on the drop down menu next to "The away greeting will" and select "play when we are closed"

  1. You will then input your "open hours" on the schedule displayed. The greeting will play OUTSIDE of these hours.
  2. Click "save options"
