How to start broadcast audio
When starting a GoToWebinar as an Organizer, the Staff (Organizers and Panelists) are given the opportunity to speak among themselves until they are ready to Start the Broadcast for the entire audience to hear. During this time, all attendees are placed in a waiting room until the Organizer either clicks the Start Broadcast button on the Control Panel, or enters *1 on their telephone to broadcast.
Caution: Once the broadcast has been started, it is not possible to pause or stop the broadcast.
Start Broadcast via VoIP
When the Organizer is ready to start the Broadcast, click Start Broadcast on top of the Control Panel. An audible message will be heard that the broadcast has started and Attendees are in Listen Only Mode (muted).
Start Broadcast via Telephone
When the Organizer is ready to start the Broadcast, simply press *1 on the telephone . An audible message will be heard that the broadcast has started and Attendees are in Listen Only Mode (muted).
Note: If the Organizer is connected to the audio portion via telephone and has already entered their audio pin, they will see the Start Broadcast button instead of the prompt above (*1 still works as well).
Note: Organizers only need to press *1 on the telephone if they have not entered an Audio Pin, or aren't at their computer. The Start Broadcast clickable button should be displayed when an Organizer has joined the Audio as designed. Of course we want to promote the proper use of the Organizer Audio Pin, but *1 can at least be a useful workaround.
