Nothing Happens After Entering Email Address and Password to Register Host with ESET Security Installed

Issue

No prompt to enter nickname when attempting to register host with ESET security software installed

Procedure

Answer

Cause

ESET doesn't recognize GoToMyPC and is blocking it from finalizing the registration which will allow remote access to the machine.

Resolution

  1. Right Click blue E in system tray (ESET icon)
  2. Select Pause Firewall
  3. Select Pause Protection
  4. Right click start button
  5. Click Explore
  6. Click C:
  7. Click Program files x 86
  8. Click GoToMyPC
  9. Click g2comm.exe
  10. Enter email and password when prompted
  11. Create a nickname
  12. Click Next
  13. Create an access code
  14. Confirm Access code
  15. Click Next
  16. An 'Internal Error has occurred'error will generate
  17. Close the x to close the error
  18. Click Finish
  19. Reboot the machine
  20. Re-register machine when prompted
