Why do I need to create a new GoToMyPC account password?

The first login to your account after June 18th, 2016 will require you to go through the password reset flow to set a new password. This will only need to be done once, though we recommend setting a new account password every 90 days for increased security. Instructions for creating a new password can be found here
On June 18th of 2016 we detected that a broad "password reuse" attack was underway on the GoToMyPC service. A malicious agent was attempting to access GoToMyPC customer accounts using lists of login credentials acquired from other sources and hoping to find a match. To protect our customers against intrusion we reset all GoToMyPC passwords and notified all GoToMyPC customers of the incident. We also updated some of the password security requirements.
Our password requirements are now:

  • Greater than 8 characters
  • At least one number [0-9]
  • At least one upper case character [A-Z]
  • At least one lower case character [a-z]
  • At least one special character [!"#$%&'()*+,-./:;<=>?@[\]^_`{|}~]
  • It is strongly recommended that this be a unique password that is not used for other applications
