Why am I hitting "Error 12029"?

If you're seeing an "Error 12029" message, there are a couple ways to troubleshoot.

Rule out GoToMeeting app

  1. Uninstall the GoToMeeting and GoTo Opener.
  2. Restart your computer.
  3. Join or start the session with GoToMeeting.
  4. If you still see the error message, reset your browser (instructions below).

Reset your browser

  1. Click your Windows start menu and open the Control Panel.
  2. Click Internet Options.
  3. On the Advanced tab, click Reset.
  4. Open a new browser and join or start the GoToMeeting session.
  5. If you still see the error message, disable anti-virus if possible (instructions below).

Disable anti-virus

If you do not have permissions to make the following changes, contact your IT admin.

  1. Check if your connections works with anti-virus disabled, configure your anti-virus.
  2. If disabling your anti-virus does not help, review Whitelisting and Firewall Configuration to check that the DNS addresses, IP ranges, and ports have been whitelisted.
