Change Password Policy Settings

You can modify the password policy on a per-team basis.

Additionally, you can also allow all representatives within a team or a single representative to save their password after they initially log in to HelpAlert.

Note: GoToAssist employs strong passwords for maximum security. Passwords must be different from the login name and first/last name on the account, must be 8-32 characters in length and must contain at least 3 of the following: uppercase alphabet (A-Z), lowercase alphabet (a-z), numbers (0-9) or special symbols (~`!@#$%^andamp;*()_-+={}[]|\:;”’andlt;andgt;,.?/).

Change password policy settings for a team or subteam

  1. Click Teams in the left navigation and select the desired team, or add a new team.
  2. On the Team Settings tab, click Password Policy.
  3. Use the Password Policy tab to modify the password settings, as follows:
    • Account Password Expiration – Choose whether to force representatives to change their passwords after a certain amount of time.

    • Remind Users to Change Password – Choose whether to remind representatives that their passwords are expiring.

    • Password Reuse – Choose the number of previous passwords to disallow.

    • Failed Account Password Authentication – Choose whether to lock representatives out of HelpAlert after a certain amount of failed login attempts.

  1. Click Save Settings when finished.
