My keyboard is not working during remote control!
Symptom When connected to a host computer, keyboard strokes made on the client-side keyboard are not registered by the host. To put it another way, nothing you type shows up on the remote computer.
Cause This commonly happens when the host and client use different keyboard mappings. For example, you are typing on a German keyboard, but the host computer is set to use an English keyboard.
As a result, characters and combinations are sent to the host exactly as entered on the client-side, the keyboard and mouse priority is set to the remote user, and the host-side user's keyboard is locked so it does not interact with the remote session. Host keyboard layout is ignored.
- On the remote control toolbar, click Options > Keyboard > Use client layout.
- On the remote control toolbar, click Options > Lock Keyboard.
- On the host computer, open the LogMeIn Control Panel and go to Options > Preferences. Under Interaction > Keyboard and mouse priority choose Remote User. Click OK.
