How do I customize the embedded widget?

Customizing the look & feel

  1. In the Bold360 ai Console, go to Touchpoints > > Widgets.
  2. Under Embedded Widget, click Personalize.
  3. Select a knowledge base or URL to customize.
  4. On the Basics tab, you can customize widget appearance as follows:
    • Widget color customization: click on the colored box next to Primary color and select the color you want as your primary color. This setting defines colors such as the background of the widget's header.
    • Widget title text customization: Enter the new Title of your widget, which is displayed in the widget's header.
    • For Custom CSS: to modify the CSS for the widget insert the CSS code in the Custom CSS field.

Customizing default labels and messages

To change the default labels and messages of your embedded widget, do the following:
  1. In the Bold360 ai Console, go to Touchpoints > Widgets.
  2. Under Embedded Widget, click Personalize.
  3. Select a knowledge base or URL to customize.
  4. On the Texts & Colors tab, you can customize labels and messages as follows:
    • Welcome message / Initial question: Click on the Auto Question field to select a knowledge base article that is displayed when the widget first opens. As best practice, you can either select an article that gives guidance on how to use the search widget or defines a welcome message.
    • Search box initial text: change the placeholder text in the search field, which is "Type your question here" by default.
    • 'No results' text customization: In the "No Results" message field, change the message displayed when the bot cannot offer an answer.
    • Question posted confirmation: The question posted confirmation text will be shown after a user escalates a ticket.

Customizing fonts & colors

  1. In the Bold360 ai Console, go to Touchpoints > Widgets.
  2. Under Embedded Widget, click Personalize.
  3. Select a knowledge base or URL to customize.
  4. On the Texts & Colors tab, you can customize the following fonts and colors of the widget:
    • title
    • answer text
    • answer title
    • links (only colors)

Advanced customization

  1. In the Bold360 ai Console, go to Touchpoints > Widgets.
  2. Under Embedded Widget, click Personalize.
  3. Select a knowledge base or URL to customize.
  4. On the Advanced tab, you have the following options:
    • Append footer to answers: i n the Append Footer to Answers field, enter the text you want to display in a footer at the end of every answer. Suitable for campaigns or notifications you want to promote to your customers. The text can also include HTML code.
    • Auto-Label tickets (IDs): first, choose the relevant URL in the URL combo box. Then, select the label to be attached to a ticket from the URL.
    • Append once after results: when more than one answer is suggested, the text is only added below the last suggestion.
    • Widget enabled: select or clear this option to show or hide the widget.
    • Mobile widget enabled: choose this option to show the floating widget on mobile devices.
    • Persistent Channeling Bar: choose this option to to always show the channeling bar.
    • Enable sharing in the answer: allows the end user to share Bold360 ai answers through Email, Facebook, Twitter, or just copy the answer link.
The change is shown in the display of how your widget will look, in the right-hand section of the page. Click Save Changes and then click OK. The change is made instantly in the widget on your website.
